« Back to Glossary Index

Universal Authentication Frameworks (UAF) is an open standard that aims to provide a secure passwordless experience for primary authentication. Developed by the FIDO Alliance, UAF enables users to authenticate using local biometrics or a PIN, without the need for a second factor. However, UAF is not yet widely adopted, as it is not embedded in major browsers.
