Two-Factor Authentication

« Back to Glossary Index

A security method that requires two different forms of authentication from the three categories of authentication factors – something you know, something you have, and something you are. By using two factors, 2FA offers an additional layer of security compared to traditional password authentication. It is a subset of multi-factor authentication and helps protect against various types of attacks that might compromise user accounts.
